Listen up, NBA fans. It’s time to plan a trip to New Orleans. The NBA All-Star Weekend is coming up, and it’s the place to be if you love professional basketball.
The biggest names in the NBA will be in New Orleans for the weekend of Feb. 14-16. The highlight event of the weekend is the NBA All-Star Game, where two teams of players voted on by NBA fans will go head-to-head in what is sure to be a great game.
The roster, which was just recently announced, includes names like:
- LeBron James (Mia)
- Kevin Durant (OKC)
- Blake Griffin (LAC)
- Dwyane Wade (Mia)
- Kyrie Irving (Cle)
- John Wall (Was)
- Kevin Love (Min)
- Stephen Curry (GS)
- Chris Paul (LAC)
- Paul George (Ind)
- Pau Gasol (LAL)
- Carmelo Anthony (NYK)
Leading up to the big game, players will be going against each other in competitive events, like a slam dunk contest, three point contest, general basketball skills challenge and more. NBA newbies will also get a chance to shine in the Rising Stars Challenge.
We have on good authority that it’s still possible to get a hotel room for that weekend in February! We recommend looking at hotels in the French Quarter and Central Business District since those will be within walking distance of the Arena. If you don’t feel like walking though, there will be plenty of cabs around, and all the NBA events will be just a short ride away.
If you need some help deciding on what hotel to choose, post a message to our Facebook page. We’ll help you pick a place that fits what you’re looking for.
